NDA publishes Draft Business Plan for Consultation

03 November 2008

The NDA has today launched its Draft Business Plan for 2009/2012.

PDF Draft Business Plan 2009-12 (5.5Mb)

This year’s draft plan seeks to bring a sharper focus to the key deliverables that we will achieve during 2009/10. We present a two year forward look to give stakeholders early insight of future planned work. The plan also summarises key activities that will be carried out by our delivery partners on each of our sites.

Richard Waite, Acting Chief Executive, said:

“During the last year, the NDA has consolidated its position as the strategic authority responsible for the decommissioning of the UK’s public sector nuclear sites and has remained focussed on delivering its mission. Through competition, we have brought world-class capability to the UK, which is delivering safe, secure and environmentally responsible decommissioning and clean-up. However, this year has also witnessed a unique set of global economic problems, and many challenges remain. It is our role to ensure that, through our contracts, we secure best value for money for the UK taxpayer in cleaning up the nuclear legacy.”

There are a number of ways to let us know your views over the next 12 weeks. You can submit your response online at

www.ndabusiness.dialoguebydesign.net

or send it by letter, fax or e-mail. The address details are published on page 9 of the draft plan.

We aim to take account of as many of your comments as we can once the consultation period has ended. We will then submit our Business Plan to the Secretary of State and to the Scottish Ministers for their approval by 31 March 2009, before publishing our approved plan.
