Data Collation and Due Diligence process for use of NDA Assets.
Closing Date: 18 September 2008
OJEU ref: 2008/S 159-215700
The NDA intend to sell at some future time a variety of its assets e.g. land, uranic material etc. The work to be carried out under this contract is to provide support to the NDA developing technical information for a data room, answering queries on that data during the sale process and evaluating the technical aspects of bids for items to be sold. Some of this work has already been completed i.e. the initial preparation for the data room.
It is anticipated that the land will be of interest to those in the power generation industry and therefore contractors should be familiar with the technical and regulatory issues surrounding the siting and building of these plants. However this does not preclude other uses and the NDA will examine any genuine proposal associated with the sale of assets. Workstreams already complete which will support this process include: high level assessment of NDA land asset value and asset use competition data room population.
NDA may require further development of the information provided in the data room. Also the NDA may require support to develop a similar set of data for some of other sites in the NDA estate or on the preparation of technical information to aid the disposal of Uranic material. In addition to the above data provision NDA requires support with preparation of responses to queries produced by possible asset purchasers, BERR etc. These are likely to be ad hoc in topic, detailed and potentially required at short notice. Finally the successful contractors will need to support the NDA in the technical (non-financial) analysis of bids for assets.
Deliverables The above information is required in report format. It is likely that a range of reports will be needed to support each topic area for each site. The initial contract duration is 12 months with NDA option to extend an additional 24 months, in 12 month increments, up to a maximum contract duration of 36 months. II.1.6)

Review of NDA Stakeholder Engagement on Geological Disposal
Closing Date: 09 September 2008
OJEU ref: Not applicable
The Managing Radioactive Waste Safely White Paper set requirements on the NDA to:
- Set out for consultation its framework for public and stakeholder engagement and communication during development of the geological disposal facility;
- Prepare and publish for consultation its proposals for sustainability appraisal and environmental assessment as part of implementing geological disposal.
The NDA has published two consultation documents to meet these requirements:
NDA Consultation on a Public and Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Framework for Geological Disposal
This consultation document sets out the proposed principles and framework on which the NDA Public and Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Strategy for geological disposal will be developed.
NDA Consultation on a Framework for Sustainability Appraisal and Environmental Assessment for Geological Disposal
This consultation document sets out NDA’s proposed approach to sustainability appraisal and environmental assessment for the geological disposal facility programme.
The NDA is also arranging meetings and a workshop to discuss the consultation documents with stakeholders and obtain their inputs.
The objectives of this contract are to review and report on the stakeholder engagement NDA undertakes while developing its PSE and Communications Strategy and Sustainability Appraisal and Environmental Assessment Strategy for geological disposal.
The work will involve interviewing stakeholders who respond to the consultations and participation in the workshop to establish what has worked well and what could have gone better and whether they believe the NDA has listened to the inputs that have been made.
