David Rhind - Independent Chair of the NDA's Socio-Economic Committee

 

David Rhind, Independent Chair of the NDA's Socio Economic Committee. 

David Rhind is the independent chair of the NDA's Socio-economic Committee which meets regularly to consider proposals for socio-economic support.

David Rhind's career has at various stages involved physics, geology and geomorphology, computing systems, geography and the social sciences. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and of the British Academy.

Until July 2007 he was Vice-Chancellor of the City University and was previously Director General of Ordnance Survey. He was Chairman of the Statistics Commission, which reports to Parliament and the Chancellor of the Exchequer, until March 2008. He is now a Non-Executive Director of the Bank of England and a Non-Executive Director of the UK Statistical Authority.
